Save yourself a good chunk of money and just get one that is already that form factor. I've been loving the KIWI straps

I got a Rift S a few months ago and these additions were a must imo:

  1. Hand straps to make them like knuckles controllers. You don't have to be constantly gripping your controller which is nice for long play periods. I have wrist problems so any help is good. but just being able to "let go" of stuff is excellent for immersion. I got the Mamut ones, and really like them. There's these Kiwi too which are cheaper.

  2. I primarily play beat saber so vr cover is a must so the foam doesn't get super gross. Also I got a workout headband or else sweat will get all in your eyes

  3. And since i value sound for Beatsaber, the built in speakers just don't cut it (missing bass) so I got these clip on headphones originally made for PSVR. They will clip on just fine to the Rift S halo. They sound fine. Maybe $40 was a bit much. If you're a tinkerer look up the Koss headphones mod. They're like $12 it looks like. And there's 3d printed things to clip the Koss to the halo strap.

i can vouch for this

suprised not to see this. i prefer it over the silicone cover. the vrcover ones are probably similar but i read complaints

i got those both for free , used and bought other similar stuff that was shipping was suprised to end up liking the free (valueless) stuff i would only keep for the eventual resale value.

Cases and batteries come down to the preference. i prefer nothing but velcro ties to hold the battery at this point. to fit in travel cases easier and to swap with different sized batteries

vouch for kiwi grips too

amazed by the specrashell earbuds and am somewhat familiar with next up options, koss pro's and far ahead options some audio technica can's that weree $150..... was not expecting to like spectrashell but i knew i made the right choice the minute i tested them

Heres the link for the kiwi straps, I came into this thread just to recommend them, they're amazing I couldn't imagine playing anything without them. Also Kiwi makes a really good pulley system which I also have and love.

happy to see a new post by you. i found your prior post pretty helpful when i was starting out my customizing journey

questions about vrngy pack

  1. from how it looks its usba to usbc , right? do you know your pull power? 2.4a? 3a? can the vrgny pack charged a drained internal battery or stop the internal from continuing to drain?
  2. what are those swivels that make it look like a clamshell opening case?
  3. how long is your usb wire?

i would have went with a magnetic cable, even had one ordered, but i couldn't find one 30cm or shorter. at the end of the at end of the day i didnt want to limit port choice. besides they make right angle connectors as wellhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JKBKM12

    also kiwi gripshttps://www.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Knuckle-Controller-Accessories/dp/B07XYYNXJ3

\> Hopefully, we'll one day see either an official or well made, 3rd party, halo strap for the Quest.

oculus should be paying us for the R&D

This is a must have for me.

There are also these knuckle-style grips. You can let go of the controller with these and they'll stay on your hands.

I can't vouch for them though. I'm on the fence still for buying a pair.

i was making a thread about this but i think its being found annoying.

ill just link everything but i think i have it all down and a small explainer

on ali express for 1/2 the price

2/3 the price. ali is their offical store too

this came with with the used quest i got.i dig it. i bought a $3 bootleg off this off ali and basically wanted to see how i felt after that. it never came in yet

the power bank most are getting. the usbc port draws 3.0amp. the quest itself draws 2.8A so the battery can tread water and deplete itself first before going to quest's reserves. the usb-a port draws 2.4A so uusing that would slowly drain both, i think but extend everything

i did some looking and this just came out and satisfied all my needs. same size as above anker, 3.0A on usbc and 3.0A on its usb-a, so i basically have a choice which port i'd want to use and not be worse off. ive read someone you dont want to quick charge a battery if you can help it. also, i ended up buying some short 1 ft usba to usbc cables off ali and i cant return them so i was like may as well. ravpower is basically brand 2 or 3 compared to anker's 1, so this is fine. power bank is so new reviews are trickling in now

1ft (30cm) cable came in the mail though and i realized its about 2 inches longer than my head, and i have a big head. but thats not long at all, so im going to do the aesthetic then and go for 10 inch cables, which is 25cm. also getting right angle usb connecter to stress the port less and just make it look cooler

all these took awhile to find but also look cool but also be in 3a, supposedly
connector. these were on amazon same price

12 inch/30cm usba to usbc

10 inch/25 cm usb a to usb c

12inch /30cm usbc to usbc

10 inch /25 cm usb c to usbc

I haven't felt the need for any battery pack mods, unless you're planning on using it for long periods outside. I did get the knuckle straps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XYYNXJ3/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_YEDVDbX7PV1Y0.

Honestly just try it for awhile before you go looking for mods.
